subtitles will added as the new subtitle text track - when this setting is enabled, an additional text stream is created along with the audio and video stream. Adding subtitles occurs quickly without recoding the video stream. The disadvantage of this method is that many video players do not support a such text subtitle track. The MPC-HC player supports it, but you need to enable subtitle display in its settings.
